Smears, Dirty Tricks & Hardball Politics

THE JERICHO REPORT
If there is no assurance of integrity in the voting process itself,
nothing else matters -
not issues, not personalities, not delegates.
The integrity of the voting process must be our first task,
no matter which candidate we support.

And that integrity has been shattered!

As George W. Bush becomes the new Herbert Hoover, maintaining his posture of denial as America slides into a recession, or possibly worse, John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama battle it out for the right to inherit the burnt ashes of government, the now-empty vessel of democracy.

Like many, I have somewhat vacillated among all three of the candidates still standing (by the time you read this, though, if you do, there will most likely be only two - either McCain and Clinton or McCain and Obama. I have tried to go behind the candidate propaganda and sound bites to determine who these three people really are and what we can expect.

This site starts out primarily with Google links, but will be "fleshed out" as I add more specific content, starting with one candidate and working my way on to the next. Because John McCain has already won the Republican nomination and the Democrat battle is still going, I will deal first with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama (in alphabetical order) and add the McCain research later.

You will also find some humor through these pages - especially in the Media section - to help offset the frustration and possible depression you might otherwise feel, wondering if there is any hope left in our political system.

First - a look at party strategy. I somehow have a strong feeling that Republicans are hoping Obama wins the Democratic nomination ... because they already know how dirty Hillary can - and will - fight. They believe that Obama has some weaknesses that the GOP "dirty tricks department" can use to destroy him in a general election. Face it, the nation already knows who Hillary really is, even though she has tried to remake herself over and over.

Could this be why both McCain and Obama, for the most part, are (or were) getting a free ride from the controlled news media?

With these questions as the basis, I am breaking this website section down into the following categories:
Dirty Tricks, Fitness, Indebtedness, Honesty and Experience
 - not necessarily in that order.

This is followed by a look at some of the more important issues the next president will have to be dealing with.

Last is a look at each of the candidates, with emphasis on the categories mentioned above.

HONESTY:
We should remember that all three of these people are only human, and all of them have weaknesses and have made mistakes. The important measure of a leader's ability is in how he/she responds to those weaknesses and mistakes - with honesty or with deception?

INDEBTEDNESS:
Who are the puppet-masters behind these candidates? Who pulls the strings of these candidates? What special interests or lobbyists own them? Whose pockets are they in?

DIRTY TRICKS:
What kind of "dirty tricks" are they waging against their opponents?

FITNESS:
Do any of them have hidden psychotic red flags that could lead to national nightmare? Paranoia? Temper? Greed? Habitual lying?

What kind of scandals do they have in their own past - and how have they responded to them? Are they possibly subject to blackmail or extortion because of skeletons in their closets such as adultery, drugs or homosexuality?

EXPERIENCE:
What kind of America, what kind of world will our next leader inherit? What kind of leadership will they give us, based on their past? How safe are with their fingers on the button of nuclear annihilation? What kind of world will they most likely leave us?

Election 2008 may be very, very nasty!

This year's election is becoming very nasty and very personal and the threat of violence, assassination and the subsequent specter of rioting, burning cities is very real. Gasoline is being poured on the flames of hate, fear and mistrust. We live in an Orwellian Big Brother world in which Lie is Truth and Truth is Lie, Peace is War and War is Peace.

We may have become too weary and too dumbed down to even notice. We don't read - we depend on the television and the Internet for news. Our television news has become infotainment - entertainment posing as information. We are the generation of "reality TV" and bread and circuses. We play along because we really don't want to poke into those dark shadowy corners of truth. We may like blood and gore and monsters on TV and in the movies, but we can always tell ourselves "it's just a movie." We don't want to face the possibility that the monsters are real.

What kind of nation and world will our next leader inherit?

We are a nation nearing bankruptcy, as our economy slides into a "recession" we can't comprehend and which we may not be able to correct. While it is easy to blame the cost of the controversial Iraq war - and that trillion-dollar price tag is certainly a major contributor, it is not the only cause. Our current and past leaders have promised everyone the moon and, behind our backs, have allowed international corporations to take control of our government, our military forces, our health, our food and our treasury - and loot it.

We stand alone in a world that increasingly hates us, not because of what we believe in, but because we don' practice what we preach. With one hand we have helped millions across the planet, and with the other hand we have economically enslaved them and committed horrible atrocities - yes, in your name and in the name of "freedom" and "democracy", that bring disgrace to the words.

For decades, our leaders have pitted us against each other to build up their own respective "armies of truth" and at the same time to create the scapegoats and targets to keep feeding the hatred necessary to keep those armies loyal and obedient, afraid to stray from the "official" line.

We live in a nation where, deep down, we don't believe the lies, but we are confounded because we don't know what it is we can believe in, so with such a vacuum of truth, we cling to the only thing there is - the lies we know in our hearts are lies.

We live in a nation where, as we learned in 2000, our votes are mere illusions, replicated when useful, destroyed when inconvenient. In the 2008 election, many of those things we like to call votes are nothing more than fleeting electrons - invisible, unrecorded - across confusingly technological black boxes manufactured by companies with ties to organized crime and to their interests and agendas.

It has all become an illusion ... or maybe it always was.

You and I are about to go where most voters will never go. We are approaching the electoral process for what it has become, a criminal enterprise, controlled by shadowy figures who pull the strings of those we are supposed to see as our leader, our elected president, our Senators, our Representatives, our governors, our state legislators, our mayors, our city councilmen, our newspaper editors and publishers, the TV and radio networks - the list goes on.

Some might say this is the "ultimate conspiracy nut theory" - but if you've bothered to read this far, you are intelligent enough and inquisitiveness enough to know there indeed is some higher, unseen force in control of our democracy.

As a society, we have been divided and fragmented, with different factions seeing different people, or personalities, as those shadowy forces - be it Bush-Cheney, Bill and Hillary, the Far Left, the Far Right, the Jews, the Blacks, the Muslims or whatever. The more players, the more suspects. And the more confusion, with more paths leading away from the true secrets that determine our personal and national destiny.

Some might even prefer to think of this as the ultimate RPG (Role Playing Game), because that's what our history and current events are, a great "game" of deception and conquest, of power and wealth. The road is littered with red herrings and false leads - false accusations, admissions and confessions that thwart a search for the greater truth.

If you are already controlled by your pre-conceptions and are a passionate supporter of one of the candidates, then perhaps this isn't the place for you. Your mind is already made up, so would you really be able to evaluate and sift through the evidence, good and bad? Probably not.

Still, you might like to play the game without taking it seriously.

Personally, I haven't yet made up my mind about the candidate to vote for, and I have little but an unorganized pile of evidence which needs to be sorted, grouped and organized into a coherent fashion which might reveal trends, patterns.

Remember - evidence is just that - evidence, not proof!

Are you ready? If so, let's get on with it!

There is still considerable time before the conventions and even more before the November election itself.
