Straight Talk McCain Lied About John Kerry VP Offer

"Senator Hothead" McCain - as he is called by his fellow Republican senators, got testy today when asked by a reporter about a 2004 conversation with Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry, in which Kerry asked McCain to be his Vice Presidential candidate.

Perhaps the reason McCain got so testy is that in May 2004 he lied to the New York Times, claiming no such conversation had ever taken place.

Now, he claims "everyone knew that."
